Jens E. Ekornes and Peter P. Langlo established ‘Kurvmøblefabrikk Møre AS’. The company changes its name to ‘Møre Lenestolfabrikk AS’ in 1931 and in 1932 a new production building was built at the waterfront in Ørsta.
Jens Petter started with wicker furniture that was in production right out of the 1970’s. The company expanded from wicker furniture to the production of arm chairs the following year. In the 1950’s and 1960’s ‘Møre Lenestolfabrikk’ were specializing in sofa beds.
In 1934 the production started with a different versions of rattan furniture. They had carved and hand braided rotting sides. This production was kept up all the way to the 1970s, but without hand wowing of rotting sides.
Especially chairs from the Oxford series was popular, this series was in production 15 years.
A new lamination technology opened up new opportunities. Møre Lenestolfabrikk were the first to adopt the new technology and the chair City was the first product in which it was used. City and lamination technology was the start of an entire collection, named Quantum Range.
Planet was the first spherical chair in Norwegian furniture history. The name alludes to the first space journey in 1961 and the entry of Pop Art furniture onto the Norwegian market.
A chair that placed Møre Lenestolfabrikk on the map, with over 850,000 chairs sold worldwide. In the coming years, several ‘Lami’-products was launched:

Møre Lenestolfabrikk got new owners. Olav Nerbøvik and Inge Langlo. Together they buy Møremøbler Stranda, Møre Manilla and Møremøbler Kalvatn.
Totem, Spring and Water Stolen in 1984 are good examples from this period.
Life Tjønneland designed the series Rebo for Møremøbler in 1984.
"Rebo series is designed with an emphasis on anatomically correct seating and is therefore a right choice to nursing homes, hospitals, airports, etc. where one often can be sitting a while."
That same year, we deliver furniture to both the National Theatre and The Norwegian Theatre.
Torstein Nilsen received the Award for Design Excellent for Locust. "An idea so simple, yet so useful. A solution for tired legs. "
Following comment was given by the jury of the Norwegian Design Council: "A stable chair with comfortable seating for large people. It has a wide range of applications with an exciting shape for volume manufacturing."Tormod Alnæs receive the Award for Design Excellence for the chair Aero.
Chairs, side tables and the widest range of conference table ever made by Fora Form was launched. The ‘Collage’-series was designed by Komplot Design and Collage conference table system won the Classic Award for Design Excellence in 2000, the system was based on eight plate size that could be combined in innumerable variations.
Møremøbler launches the Jazz series.
Jazz Collection from Dave Vikøren and Steinar Hindenes consisted of the desktop Jazz pepper, the hanger Jazz Dizzy, the chair Monk Jazz and the barstool Jazz Young. The series received the Award for Design Excellence in 1993 and the classic award in 2005.
Jurek Buchacz won 1st Prize for his Olympic chair in a design competition organized by the Norwegian Design Council and LOOC.
